How to identify a dry scalp

• Tightness: gently pinch the scalp between thumb and forefinger. A solid, tense scalp indicates poor circulation; a loose, easy-to-pinch scalp indicates good circulation.
• Sebum: section the hair with a comb and run a fingertip over the scalp. Little or no oil points to dryness.
• Flakes: look for dry patches and fine, powdery flakes — comparable to dry skin on the face.

A dry scalp is not the same as dandruff. Dandruff flakes are typically larger and often accompanied by redness and sensitivity. For any persistent or severe scalp condition, please consult a doctor or pharmacist.

How to use

1. Shake well before use.
2. On dry hair, part into sections.
3. Apply 3–6 drops per section directly to the scalp.
4. Massage gently with fingertips.
5. Leave on for 5–10 minutes.
6. Comb through, rinse, then shampoo and condition as usual.

Use once or twice a week, or before each wash while the scalp settles. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes — rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.

Is this for dandruff?

No. Dry Scalp Treatment is a cosmetic treatment for dry, tight, flaky scalps. It is not an anti-dandruff medicine. Moroccanoil themselves note that dandruff should not be confused with a dry scalp. Speak to a pharmacist or doctor about persistent dandruff.

Can I use it on colour-treated hair?

Yes — the formula is colour-safe and sulphate-free.

Do I still need to shampoo afterwards?

Yes. This is a pre-cleanse treatment. Rinse it out, then shampoo and condition as normal.

Dry Scalp or Oily Scalp Treatment?

Dry Scalp for a tight, dry or flaky scalp, and for normal or combination scalps. Oily Scalp for high sebum production and a scalp that feels greasy quickly.
