Nadia Sawalha hair loss

Nadia Sawalha hair loss

Has anybody seen an article this week about Nadia Sawalha and her hair loss?

Did you watch the video where she starts talking about her hair to advertise some hair products but quickly progresses to tell us of the awful truth she is facing with her hair?  Nadia confesses that all her hair awesomeness is fake and soon she is in tears about how she is losing her hair and her doctor has told her she has “the Balding Gene”

When I first read this I laughed out loud because in my experience this is an awful thing to tell a woman! That she has a “balding gene” and that there is nothing she can do about her hair loss!

Then I was angry! I’m sure Nadia has paid a pretty penny for what I’m sure is a very highly qualified trichologist (hair doctor) to tell her that her alopecia is irreversible!

And my question is, has this doctor explained to Nadia any of the possible options that can actually HELP HER HAIR!!!???

When we talk about genes I assume like me you think, well if its genetic there’s nothing I can do about it! Right!?

WRONG!

Thats why I’m upset. I watched Nadia’s video and it’s tears I’ve seen before. Clients that have come to me and cried because they are losing their hair for many different reasons and they think there is nothing that they can do.

Pregnancy

Stress

Death/Shock

Medication

Menapause

I want to tell you THERE IS!

All 5 of these causes for hair loss have a common denominator- HORMONAL BALANCE

It’s the hormonal IMBALANCE that causes these symptoms therefore, we can help fix it!

Great news right!!!!???

I bloody think so too!!!!

If you’rE a woman with thinning hair and you believe there is no hope, I am here to tell you that there is always a solution! We just need to dig to find the real reason!

Im excited! Are you!!!???

Can I get a “HELL YEAH!!!???”

So I’ve done a bit of digging so I get my facts super correct and I have enlisted the help of the luvly Simon Hall from Body Composition coaching (who is also in the realms of helping women achieve the achievable, with regards to nutrition, health and performance)

From his brain I managed to extract the information that technically this condition is known as Methylation.

I know big word, what the hell!

It’s to do with your liver.

So the hormonal imbalance causes a blockage in your liver, which causes the hair loss.

That’s a very complicated story simplified. If you would like to know more get in touch or google it if you so wish.

So lets go back to easy explanations…. I like those!

On my studies I found a very nice article from a doctor lady called Ruth Harper. I’m going to give you three of her key causes but if you would like to read the whole thing go to http://ruthieharper.com/hair-loss/hair-loss-health/

Hormonal Shifts and Hair Loss

Hormonal changes which occur with menopause are critical to address for a full healthy head of hair. During menopause, changing estrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels can create imbalances where hair loss is accelerated and new hair growth is slowed.

Pregnancy and Hair Loss

Many women notice fuller hair during pregnancy due to hormonal changes that keep resting hairs from falling out as they normally would. After childbirth, when hormones suddenly shift a sudden and sometimes alarming amount of hair may be lost all at one time. It may take up to two years for hair to return to normal without proper care and intervention. Other causes of hair loss occurring simultaneously should always be explored.

The Thyroid Connection and Hair Loss

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland at the front of the neck. It produces hormones that regulate many processes throughout the body. Hair loss is rarely the only sign of a thyroid problem because healthy thyroid hormone levels additionally control your energy, weight and cholesterol. Healthy thyroid hormone levels are important for your hair as well as your overall health. Dr. Ruthie Harper is listed as one of the “Top 10 Thyroid Doctors in Texas” and as part of your evaluation will perform a complete testing for optimal thyroid function-critical for healthy hair.

In the article it also reference to poly-cystic ovaries, stress, cancer treatments medication autoimmune…
